Ministers affirm: "Flu vaccine would arrive soon and the situation in schools is under control"

His Excellency Dr. Hanif Hassan, Minister of Health H.E. Hamid al-Qatami, Minister of Education confirmed that the directives and support of H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the United Arab Emirates and his brother H. H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Prime Minister and Vice-President, and Ruler of Dubai would contribute to the achievement of the targets for combating H1N1 flu. Dr Hassan and Humaid Mohammed Obaid al Qattami, the Minister of Education, were members of a panel organised by the National Media Council and the Higher Supervisory Committee for Combating H1N1. The officials’ comments came during a special programme, which was aired live on a number of local television and radio channels.   More

Friday 2 October: An “open day” on ways of Combating H1N1 Virus

The Minister of Health H.E Dr Hanif Hassan and Minister of Education H.E Humaid Al Qattami will appear in the program of “ Open Day” next Friday through local broadcasters. The educational open day will be broadcast live by the TV stations in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah and local radio stations at 2:00 pm on October 2. The Ministry of Health and health authorities intensify its educational activities regarding H1N1 disease through the dissemination of health information and health education by various means available to members of society in the various factions. Dr. Ali Shaker, Director General of the Ministry of Health, and Chairman of the National committee to combat swine flu stated that the supervisory committee to combat H1N1 flu under the chairmanship of H.E. Dr. Hanif Hassan, Health Minister addressed the need to intensify the efforts of awareness-raising and education through the cooperation of all the parties against the challenges of the spread of HIV among individuals.  More

H1N1 Panel Reviews Pilgrimage Plan

The National Higher Supervisory Committee to Combat H1N1 on Tuesday reviewed an executive plan for Haj (pilgrimage) and Umrah. The meeting was chaired by Minister of Health Dr. Hanif Hassan. The Ministry of Health will coordinate with the General Authority for Islamic Affairs and Endowment, the medical mission and Haj operators to ensure a safe travel for pilgrims with respect to health concerns throughout the Haj journey, starting from their departure.   More
